Fruit: 100% Marlborough, Wairau Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Vineyard: Grown on the dry sandy river shingle of our Marlborough Wairau ValleyVineyard. All the grapes used for this wine are grown using sustainable viticulture approved sites.

Harvest Data: Fruit was harvested at optimum flavour and ripeness, over several different pick dates between the 15/3/16 and the 5/4/15.
Vinification: Machine harvested, fruit crushed and destemmed into small batch lots for fermentation.  All fruit was processed through our Vaccuum Press eliminating Oxygen and the need for preservative. Cool fermented in Tank, with a short period of sur lie ageing on gross solids. Keeping in line with Moana Park’s philosophies this wine has had no animal products used on it.
Wood Percentage: Nil.
Wine Analysis:

Bottling : The wine was bottled on the 29th September 2015. Only 1856 dozen were produced.
Colour: Light Pale Straw with a green Hue.
Aroma: Lifted black current leaf and tomato vine, with green apple and bell pepper.
Palate: Zesty with a long finish, this wine has a great texture. Displaying notes of Bell Papper, Tropical Fruit with great intensity.
Cellaring: This wine is ready for immediate consumption but will continue to develop and gain complexity with some bottle age.

Product Description

Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is full and voluminous with deeply packed aromas of pungent passionfruit, ripe tropical fruits and grassy, green capsicum and dark herbal detail. Aromas of green stonefruits and mineral elements emerge with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bold, juicy and luscious flavours of ripe passionfruit and tropical fruits feature on a fulsome palate. Layers of green stonefuits, herbs and capsicum add interest. The fruit is underlined by dry, grainy phenolic textures and the mouthfeel balanced by fresh, lacy acidity, providing plenty of energy and drive. The wine carries to a mouthwatering, dry, textural finish with rich passionfruit and gooseberry flavours. This is a full, bold and juicy, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with grainy textures and a dry finish. Match with salads and vegetables, and herb-marinated seafood and poultry over the next 2 years. Fruit from the company’s Marlborough Wairau Valley vineyard, a portion cold soaked on skins and cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and <2 g/L RS, the wine aged 3-4 months on lees with stirring. 1,856 dozen made.
