3 Bottles of our 2016 Estate Series Sauvignon Blanc

Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is full and voluminous with deeply packed aromas of pungent passionfruit, ripe tropical fruits and grassy, green capsicum and dark herbal detail. Aromas of green stonefruits and mineral elements emerge with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bold, juicy and luscious flavours of ripe passionfruit and tropical fruits feature on a fulsome palate. Layers of green stonefuits, herbs and capsicum add interest. The fruit is underlined by dry, grainy phenolic textures and the mouthfeel balanced by fresh, racy acidity, providing plenty of energy and drive. The wine carries to a mouthwatering, dry, textural finish with rich passionfruit and gooseberry flavours. This is a full, bold and juicy, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with grainy textures and a dry finish. Match with salads and vegetables, and herb-marinated seafood and poultry over the next 2 years. Fruit from the company’s Marlborough Wairau Valley vineyard, a portion cold soaked on skins and cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and <2 g/L RS, the wine aged 3-4 months on lees with stirring

3 Bottles of our 2016 Estate Series Syrah

Very dark, deep, black-hued purple-ruby colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is elegant with concentrated, ripe aromas of black berry and raspberry fruits, with lifted dark red florals, Asian spices and black pepper. The nose grows in volume with aeration. Medium-bodied and elegant in proportion, vibrantly rich and ripe, succulently sweet fruit flavours of dark raspberries, boysenberries, black pepper and iron-earth are enriched and enlivened by fresh acidity. The fruit is supported by fine, grainy tannin structure that provides palate line and a balancing, textured mouthfeel. This is well composed and the flavours flow with good energy to a dry, elegant, sustained finish. This is a sweetly ripe, black and raspberry fruited Syrah with pepper and iron-like flavours and good extract, expressive of the Gimblett Road Sites. Serve with roasted and grilled lamb, beef and venison over the next 5-6+ years. A single vineyard wine, fruit from the company’s Gimblett ‘Onewa’ site, destemmed and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine on skins up to 30 days and aged 11 months in 30% new French oak barrels.
