Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. Lifted black and cassis berry notes with densely packed bouquet of savoury red plum softly inter-woven into underlying violet florals and spiciness. The palate is rounded with plenty of depth and the presence at the core, with concentrated flavours of dark, savoury earthy plum fruit alongside curranty notes. A firm drying tannin line emerges to provide grainy texture as well as structure. There is fresh acidity which enlivens the fruit and mouth-feel to balance the extraction, and the wines carries through to a long juicy vibrant finish with fine tannins and licorice notes.
