Product Description

Syrah fruit from the Gimblett Road vineyard, hand-picked, destemmed and given a cold soak, with partial indigenous yeast fermentation to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 14 months in new and seasoned French oak. Full black-red colour, near impenetrable at heart, lighter on rim. The nose is firm and intensely concentrated with aromas of ripe black berried fruits infused with spices, black pepper, iron-earth and minerally nuances, unveiling layers of violet floral aromas and nutty oak. Full-bodied, deeply concentrated flavours of ripe blackberry and spicy, black plum fruit are melded with black pepper, minerals, earth and oak. Floral elements lift the flavours, providing vitality and along with piquant acidity lend tension and drive. The extraction is serious and well-proportioned, supporting the rich fruit, and forms a concentrated core that carries to a very long, lingering finish. This is an elegantly concentrated, vibrantly rich Syrah with ripe black fruit and earthy, minerally flavours supported by serious structure.
